In 1977, Reclaim the Night was a response to the Yorkshire Ripper. Sutcliffe murdered 13 women across Yorkshire and north-west of England between 1975 and 1980. This provoked an enormous feminist backlash. And we cannot fight for our rights without naming and accurately describing what makes us different from men," she says.
