What Is Knowledge and How Can It Be Found in Books?
A group of men called the Ginto gathered on Fridays to talk about practical knowledge. They set up a little library where they pooled their individual, tiny individual libraries. The collection just sort of like melted away because people wanted their books back and didn't bring them back. This was in 1731 when Franklin might say took this library idea public. But it was at the beginning, we didn't have the kind of fine that we have today.
