The Beginning of the World
The solar cycle is the number of years that must pass before all the days in the year will again fall on the same days of the week. Every 19 years, the new moon appears exactly on the same date. Scallenger multiplied these cycle lengths to get a period of seven sand 980 years. He called his system the julian period or julian date, probably after the jilian calendar,. then still used in france and the netherlands.
