AI agents can move much, much faster than humans. In gaming environments, like in computer or strategy games, they dumb down the AI agents. If you let them operate unconstrained, they're basically invincible. But that's not the purpose of using the AI in a game. They're trying to train the AI system to do higher level planning and strategic decision-making.
