The Problem With Systemic Racism in Child Welfare
From 2011 to 2017, there was an increase in annual admissions to the foster care system of about 10,000. One of the things that's cheeses the sounds is that we are treating mom withdrawal in a lot of cases. The non-pharmacologic measures that we're doing? We do not transfer in our hospitals to the NICU at all for infants who have opioid withdrawal unless they have another medical reason.
