The Word Tree Is Not What You Think Is a Tree

In Wittgenstein's work, nor in this passage here, Nietzsche charges that any thought too unique is beyond the pale of the herd's understanding. And so whatever exists within the human mind which doesn't enter into the shared linguistic concepts which are useful for the many becomes inexpressible in some sense. All expression which originates from what we might call an individualistic origin remains silent or becomes distorted by the signal. This is a criticism of consciousness itself. You can only conclude that this should be regarded as a downside or a flaw in consciousness itself.
