The Role of Soil in the Development of Societies

Coastal people have usually been more knowledgeable and more technologically and socially advanced than interior peoples. The obvious advantages of being located on the coastal region are pretty transparent. Why do they call middle America, middle America? Because there is no sea access. Some regions have soil that quickly to please. And this prevents the development of cities and cultural advancements that are largely associated with urban life.
