The Modern Cocktail
The modern cocktail was invented in the 18 nineties by a guy who tended bar at a social club in bradford, Pennsylvania. It's scotch whisky, slow gin, little bit of lemon juice, just a spoonful, orange bitters and a dash of absinthe. That sounds absolutely crazy and disgusting, but it's so delicious. Bots actually like the blood and sand. I dt don't think dave does. But they're connected with, again, it it's a weird thing. They're weird drinks. And that is one of the through lines for the history of cocktails and spirits: The amazing curiosity of bartenders.
