Integrated Supply Chain Into the Product Development Process
The golf equipment business was a division of a very big company. They had one manufacturing facility in South Carolina where they made balls and then everything else was contracted out. What we did was we worked with them to actually integrate the supply chain way back into really the product development process. And by the second and third years we own tailor-made, they won the best safety metrics across the whole of the company, including its supply base. It's also getting the right systems in place so that you're carrying the right levels of inventory as opposed to saying I never want to be short on any kind of golf club no matter what the skew is.
