History as a Humanity Versus History as a Socal Science
i always talk about the distinction between history as a humanity versus history as a socal science. There's a whole lot of subjects that fit into e humanitys things like language, literature, religion and all these kinds of things which are really hard to quadify, prove, analyze with data. I think there's also another issue, which is that a modern historian has to be, in some ways, much more of a specialist than some of the great historians from a hundred years ago, or 200 years ago. And i think you ought, you have a real ear for the ad and you have a nose for the drama in these stories too, which i love.
