The government of India launched a $3 billion production linked incentive or PLI scheme for the domestic automobile industry. But guess what? Not a single company that was selected for the scheme managed to qualify for it. The next step is something called DVA certification or Domestic Value Edition certification. Over 10 original equipment manufacturers or OEMs applied for DVA certification but were rejected due to lack of required documents.
