How to Replace Portland Lime Cement

Concrete is made up of three main ingredients, cement, aggregates and water. When you look at it from an embodied carbon perspective, 90% of that is attributed to the cement within the mix. We can utilize supplementary cementitious materials or SCMs within a mix that are actually byproducts that are produced from other manufacturing products. Slag cement, fly ash and silica fume could be used in concrete mixes.
