Visa and MasterCard cartel has been able to price fix on fees for taking credit cards in the United States. The merchant fees are way higher than they are anywhere else that I know of in the world. You could open up a free checking account online and just put enough in there per month to pay the bill or something. And then your regular money isn't at risk in any way.
