The Uncertainty of the Fictional Narrative
The genre very much falls into the trap of we have this intelligence, this is right, this is now going to happen. The real world does not, has no obligation to make sense and typically doesn't. And I think getting that randomness into into the fictional narrative that nevertheless has to cohere in some sense is difficult. But by and large, the genre struggles with that uncertainty.
