There is an inherent and cultural dislike of things like maggots, creeper crawlies. Most nurses who lead wound care in the UK only prescribe maggots as a last resort. Wounds can stay stagnant for years after they have tried everything else. And then you put maggots on for four days and you see the turnaround is absolutely amazing.
