Ed Sullivan broke acts that people hadn't heard of. He would sanctify, you know, kind of rock acts in a way that just must have been fascinating to know. None of the major American record labels thought the Beatles were anything worth paying attention to. The rights to their first singles went to these local labels. Swan made a mint because they happened to be the one, the American distributor for these first Beatles singles.
