The Importance of a Physician License

In 1889 someone tried to strike down a physician licensing law in Connecticut I believe. The court upheld the state's ability to provide licenses for occupations if they're protecting from the consequences of ignorance and incapacity as well as of deception and fraud. All that these licenses especially in their more obscure applications are really doing is preventing people in predominantly lower income jobs from being able to earn an income.
