The Phoenix Is Carrying the Bones
The phoenix is carrying the bones. We're carrying the memory and especially the memory of martyrs in imitation of Christ forward into the future from the past. There's a couple places in Rome where there's actually like a palm tree. And on top of the palm tree is a phoenix bird. It was just always as you could visit a church like, why is that bird of a halo? It's a Christ image.
