Astronauts will hopefully spend several months at a time on the moon. They'll learn how to survive in an extreme environment, prepping NASA for a mission to Mars. And eventually people would just live there permanently rotating in and out like we do on Antarctica or on the space station. But despite all this potential, the moon isn't exactly a welcoming place.
NASA just launched the Artemis program, a series of missions that will eventually take humans back to the moon, and beyond. But can humans actually survive in space long-term?
