The southern border, as it looks now, was largely shaped by the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. In parts of desert, it can be pretty hard to see the border at all. The name Tijuana derives from T1, which means by the C in Cumi I. Despite this, many other indigenous peoples were ignored when the border crossed them.
