It's going to take about six to 12 months minimum to really process getting a diagnosis. There is a model called the five stages of grief, by Elizabeth Kubler-Ross. People experience feelings of depression and sadness, and then acceptance. And usually people will go through all of those different emotions in a bit of a cycle.
