The structure of the team you're immediately having an impact on is likely far more important. There are so many roles in every organization and not everybody needs to understand these roles. Collaborating closely with senior engineers can have such a huge impact on how design is seen across the org. It's less about the age of the team or company and more about like what tools and what does the environment give you.
