What's the Internet?

What is the internet? The inter net, as we know it right now is earth bound. From a project at darpa to a human right? The internet touches all, from the leat to the new bes. Not bad for what is basically a series of tubes. So i guess it's got a definable boundary in terms of what it is and is not. But that one would have gotten to very high rating if we did that. Oh, thanks. Give me goose pumps.
