Paleo conservatism was invented in the early 80s as a snarky rejoinder to neo conservatism. Some paleo cons really were just full flown racists and bigots, but even those who weren't had less of a problem sharing a label with them. libertarianism is not bound up or inherent to America; there's an American flavor of it.
