How Do We Know if a Machine Is Sensient?

Last week, we talked about how would we know if a machine is actually sentient? How can we determine that? I think it's a very deep question. Do we have any tools at all to be able to answer this question? And so I'm gonna try to figure out if we do because I'm kind of open to the possibility that we do not.
