The blue light from tablets, which people sometimes use right before they go to bed, can activate parts of your brain that can make you more awake. pediatricians usually recommend putting away any sort of electronic devices, cell phones, smartphones, tablets and TV at least an hour before bed if not longer. Most doctors say it's unlikely you'll have permanent eye problems from looking at a screen.
