The Myth of the Maritocracy
i've come to sort of believe that talent is universally distributed, but opportunity is not. I think the pandemic had a lot to do withit, where people were cut off from sources of income and had nothing to do with merit. You don't have to be very smart when it's heads, i win tills you lose, like you're going to win every time. Andi have come to believe that a lot of that anger comes from as people struggle financially, and as their place, their standing in the world, decreases. As we define success differently, it sets people off on a really scarya emotional and intellectual road.
