The Importance of Security in Software Engineering

Security came late to the party, right? We started doing security much, much later than we built the systems themselves. Security folks who came in didn't come from software backgrounds originally. They came from networking and from the board of Defenseland. And that's cool. It links to the origin of how our tools were built. As all of this has changed, the need for the folks to be leading security from inside the team has become more important.
