How I Got Into Machine Learning and Quantitative Finance
Stefan Schmitz: I was sort of an undercover machine learning enthusiast back over 20 years ago. He did a master thesis on early systems for financial crises, which used the IMF as this international financial statistics data set. After that he worked in Indonesia for three years at the Central Bank, the policy advisor after the financial crisis. And then eventually decided that public sector work wasn't as dynamic as he maybe like to not live more entrepreneurial by nature.
