Did the people in fornum saint martin, or at least the flemish imigrants there, also have hypochromic anemia? I don't know of any historical sources saying that. A second possibility is that there was a greater misunderstanding. What the girl may have actually said was that people where she came from looked like she did. And this was understood to mean that they were greenish. But she may have only meant that people looked similar to her and her brother, for example, in wearing the same kind of unusual clothing or having similar facial features and hair color.
