The Perceptual Genome of Synesthesia

In a synesthete, neighboring areas of the brain have a little bit more cross-talk than normal. Eagelman's lab started a long-term project to find the gene that underlies synesthesia. He says there may be at least five different things we're all putting under the same umbrella.
