What Do We Do With Revelation?
When we see the devil, the beast and the false prophet thrown into the lake of fire and tormented for ever and ever, we look for clues that indicate how that ought to be interpreted. So what are some of those clues? Well, i'l give a couple. Throughout scripture, when symbolism in dreams and in visions is interpreted by some figure in the actual biblical record, their interpretation explains the meaning of that symbolism in plain, straightforward terms. In revelation 20, in verse 14, and in revelation 21, verse eight, both john in the former and god himself in the latter say, the lake ofFire is the second death.
