Biotec seems to me underestimated in terms of the research that's happening and how people are predicting the future. I don't myself see the kind of germ lungeinetic engineering you're referring to as a step too far, i should say. But if we can truly use technologies like crisper to use gean editing, which could solve essentially every disease,. at an extreme, you could start creating superior humans.
