Is There a Certain Kind of Uglyness With Friendship?

i think for a lot of us, the expectation is a certain kind of effortlessness with friendship that we really don't expect from romantic relationships or our familiar relationships. And i'm curious if you could speak to that expectation of effortlessness. I think that the illusion of effortlessness is the cause of a lot of unnecessary strife and pain, because none of these things are effortless.
