Does a Universal Health System Reduce Disparities?
This study was not designed to look at the Y, which is obviously an important question. The overall pattern we observed of racial ethnic disparities was actually driven entirely by the under 65 and the 65 and older crowd. We know that there isn't always a good match of population need and the supply of care. There's also the long history, unfortunately, and reality today of discrimination and racism in medicine.
