The way we remember is activating the systems that initially processed the experience. It shows to me how preposter it is to chase cognition, because our cognition is a higher order, late maturation process. When we asked that system to remember what it was not there to process, it has to scour through the library of information that is in the body,. augmenting, skewing, knocking things around, creating like making stuff up sometimes.
