Do You Think the IPA's Policies Have Fallen Out of Favour?
The IPA has pushed things like deregulating the labour market. That's led to less protections for workers, he says. Deregulation of the labour market has yielded flat-lining wages,. Privatisation all too often results in reduced services. And ultimately, I think it's safe to say that we do live in a world now that is more unequal than the Australia of 30 years ago. The evidence points to the fact that the kind of ideas that they advanced 30, 40 years ago, some of them good, some of us not so good, are declining their influence.
