Theoter: Does the involvement of war lawyers actually make the decisions regarding legal targeting operations any more? Or does it simply place a veneer of legality on what is actually morally unjustifiable? He says that when, because of the special place that law plays in our society, we are increasingly dependent on military advice. Am I trying to live up to an ideal which is very difficult to live out in practice?, asks Theoter. "I suppose the problem here rather than something i want to resolve," he responds.
