After 70, briton joined the european union. And this meant that they became part of the trading block. There was literally no economic growth between 19 72 and 19 84. It was a crisis. By 84, a new government came in, and they made radical reforms there. They removed all the exchange rate, n caba controls. Got rid of all agricultural tariffs. Just went to completely free economy,. except in one regard, except the labor market. Still had compulsory unionism in new zealand. You couldn't, you had to join union. Even when i was going as an undergraduate, i was required by law to join the student union. I wasn't allowed
