My daughter wakes up every day and says she wants to be pretty. If I tell her she is pretty, no matter what she wears, she flatly denies it. Once she saw me putting on makeup and when I wouldn't let her wear mascara, she started crying because she thought people were going to say her eyes weren't pretty. Is this normal? My family was very focused on looks and that didn't do me any favors in the confidence department.
