The Conquest of York and the Execution of Wealthy Office
In 1069 when they were back in England and English rebels were starting to organize rebellion against the conquest, wealthy office was fighting with the rebels he was part of the capture of York. He then again submitted to the Normans and was made Earl of Northumbria by William and actually given William's own niece as a wife so he was kind of bound very closely then to William but in 1075 he rebelled againso he kind of went back and forth between loyalty and rebellion over the sort of 10 years or so after the conquest. In 1075 he was clearly William had enough of him and had him executed - it was a very extreme thing to do I mean wealthy office was I think
