L.J.M. is ostensibly an investment fund, but more to the point, it's a special purpose entity (SPE) The SPE exists on paper to buy that failing asset and take it off Enron's hands. Some at Enron just don't get it: In business, some rules can be bent and others can be broken. But if you're smart enough, like an anti-Fastow or a Jeff Skilling, reality can be what you say it is.
