The Rise of Thomas De Torquemada

Thomas de Torquemada was the Grand Inquisitor of Spain from 1478 until his death in 1536. He led an inquisition to rid Catholic Spain of all heretics, including Iberian Jews who had publicly converted to Christianity. The Miranos were former Muslims whom the Spanish crown forcibly converted to Christianity and kept their faith a secret.
