A Good Read: Kate Bryan and Mark Steel
Books and Authors
Summerwater by Sarah Moss
Sarah Moss' novel Ghostwall is a chilling tale of communism in the 20th century we've been talking about Stalin at my homework by Alexi Sale. It opens with a scene in ancient Britain where a young woman is being led forth she's stripped she's bound and she is obviously about either to be sacrificed or to be punished for something lethally. You soon realize that Sylvie's father is an uncontrollably violent and angry man and that his preferred victim is Sylvie herself I just think it's a powerful and in many ways beautiful book many ways ugly as well Kate Bryan says.
