Firefighter-Specific Comedy
In 1980, he gets the top of the New York Fire Department list. And so that's when he signs up to work at engine number 55 in Soho. He starts doing stand-up comedy and makes some inroads in the somewhat insular downtown theater communities. This becomes the basis for a filming made in 1997 called Trees Lounge.
