The Red Cross Shelter in New Orleans
It's 92 degrees and suffocatingly humid in New Orleans. People sit on the ground fanning themselves with whatever scraps of paper they can find. The federal government hasn't coordinated an effective response, but the red cross is doing an okay job. And I can't help but see how race is a lens through which everything is happening here.
