The Importance of a Brand
A brand is the shared mental associations that ease decision making and enable a company to charge a price premium for something that generally offers little tangible difference. The inspiration behind my simple, collective type framework came from reading a psychology paper by a professor called harry trandis. I think we often talk about brands finding a place in culture, and forgetting that they form an essential part of it in the first place. Collective trusts always make less sense, but trust is the cornerstone of branding.
