How Do You Know When to Call a Race?
It's a really long process doing the research and then hiring all these people. There are lots of logistics. Some states make sending the data really easy, there's not so much. Even in states that give their data, the NEP typically will send someone to go to the county office and report back as votes are counted. And this isn't just a one-night affair. It's like, we have hundreds of people working the whole year. Lots of emails and phone calls.
