How to Use CRISPR to Knock Out Genes to Combat Disease

John Dench is a molecular biologist at the University of California, Berkeley. He and his colleagues are working on ways to use machine learning to detect disease-causing proteins in DNA. They're using CRISPR technology that can knock out genes but not do any damage anywhere else. The team has been able to train their computer models to spot these protein patterns with high accuracy.
