Is There a Slowdown in Energy Demand?
The outlook for coal is that it never gets back to 2019 levels in any of the scenarios that we examine. The big winners, whichever way we look at this, are the renewable sources of energy. While demand for fossil fuels is down, investment in clean energy is also down. Low growth is not a low emission strategy. You're going to need a slump can suppress emissions, but it's not a solution to climate change.
